A crayon draws a line on a sheet of paper, and the line becomes a cat that walks along it A magenta crayon rests on the page with a single wobbling line running from its tip. Standing on that line is a cat drawn in the same magenta crayon — triangular ears, big round eyes, whiskers — walking along the line it was drawn from. Four smaller crayon creatures share the line with it: a wide flat one walking, a tall thin one bouncing, a small one floating above the line, and a round one wiggling.

What your child gets to do

From Blobs to Buddies: Watch Their Wildest Ideas Walk

No lesson, no score, no timer, no wrong answer. Your child draws whatever they want — a cat, a car, a blob with six legs — and it stands up and starts moving around on the page. Then they usually draw it a friend.

Every details matter equally

A three-second scribble comes alive exactly the same way a careful drawing does. Nothing your child makes is judged, corrected, scored or ranked.

Give shapes a soul

Which one do you like? Picking the eyes is the moment a shape stops being a shape and becomes somebody.

Save alive: tap to replay, open to continue drawing

Every drawing goes into My drawings, still moving, ready to be reopened, replayed and drawn on again.

Paint with love, and then share in seconds

One tap puts it in your Photos — so the thing they made this afternoon can go to grandparents tonight.

No menus, no words

Draw and Then Come to Life by Tapping

Drawing a crab and a butterfly in drawAnything, then tapping come alive! A red crayon is picked from the box along the bottom of the phone and draws a crab, stroke by stroke; a pair of eyes pops onto it. The tool is swapped to a paintbrush, a blue one is picked, and it paints a small butterfly underneath. A button reading "Come alive!" appears and is tapped. The crab starts walking and waving its claws, and the butterfly flutters up, settles on the crab's raised claw for a moment, then loops away. Come alive!

drawAnything opens on a blank sheet of paper with a box of crayons along the bottom. That is the whole interface — no menu, no settings, no tutorial.

  • Nothing to read. The buttons are not words — they are a crayon and a paintbrush. A child who cannot read yet already knows which is which.
  • Tap a crayon and you are drawing. Picking a colour and starting to draw are the same action.
  • Swap the tool and the box swaps with it. Pick the paintbrush and the box fills with paintbrushes, so what is in the box always matches what you draw with.
  • Then one tap brings it to life. The crab is wide and flat, so it walks. The butterfly is small, so it floats. Nobody chose that — the shapes did.

What actually happens

100% Immersive Canvas for Kids

  1. A blank sheet of paper and a tray of crayons. No menu, no tutorial, no account. A child who cannot read yet can start on their own.
  2. They pick a colour and draw. Twelve colours, a crayon and a paintbrush, and a size to choose. The paper is the whole screen.
  3. The app offers eyes. Which one do you like? They pick a pair, or they pick no eyes at all.
  4. They tap Come alive! Their drawing stands up and starts moving on the same sheet of paper.
  5. You keep it. One tap saves a picture straight into your Photos, and the drawing goes into My drawings, where it can be reopened, replayed and drawn on again.

What they are actually doing

Pure Child-led Exploration Without Rules & Limits

From a tiny mark to a moving story, it's effortless for kids to unleash independent play. No hidden curriculum, it's just pure, self-taught wonder. Children are working things out the whole time they play, and this is what is in front of them.

  • Cause and effect, small enough to see. Children made a mark, and the mark got up and walked. The whole distance between I did that and that happened is one tap.
  • A rule they work out by themselves. Wide and flat walks. Tall and thin bounces. Nobody tells them — and once they notice, they start drawing shapes on purpose to get the movement they want.
  • Decisions, all of them theirs. Which colour, which brush, how big, which eyes, and when it is finished. Nothing in the app decides for them.
  • Something to talk about. A drawing that moves is a character, and a character wants a story. Most of that talking happens away from the screen.

What we collect

Zero Digital Footprint for Your Child

This is not a promise about how carefully we handle your child's data. It is a description of an app that has no way to get any.

  • No accounts and no sign-up. The app never asks for a name, an email address, a phone number, a birthday or a location.
  • No third-party software at all. No analytics, no advertising, no attribution, no crash reporting, no social SDKs.
  • No server of our own. The only network call the app ever makes is to Apple's App Store — to look up the price, and to restore a purchase.
  • Photos access is add-only. The app can put a picture in. It cannot read, browse or see anything already in your library.
  • Nowhere for a child to go. No in-app browser, no links out, no chat, no feed, no way to contact anyone.

Bought once, on your Apple Account. Restorable on a new phone, never bought again.

Buying

Tap-proof Parental Gates: No Accidental Buys

Before any purchase can begin, drawAnything asks an adult a simple multiplication question — “What is six times seven?” — under a heading that says For a grown-up. A four-year-old cannot answer it, so a purchase cannot start by accident, however many times the screen gets tapped.

Saving a picture asks nothing at all. It only puts a copy on your own phone, so there is nothing to guard against.

Questions Parents Actually Ask

What age is drawAnything for?

drawAnything is made for children roughly three to seven years old, including children who cannot read yet. There is nothing to read to start: the app opens on a blank sheet of paper with a tray of crayons, and tapping the paper draws.

Does drawAnything show ads or collect data about my child?

No, on both counts. drawAnything contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind, and it has no third-party software in it at all. There is no account and no sign-up, so there is nothing to collect. The app has no server of its own; the only network call it makes is to Apple's App Store, for the price of the optional purchase and to restore it.

Does my child's drawing get uploaded?

Nothing your child draws is ever uploaded anywhere.

Is drawAnything free, and can my child spend money by accident?

Five drawings are free and are kept forever. There is one optional one-time purchase that removes the five-drawing limit and adds saving a drawing as a short moving clip. There is no subscription and nothing recurring. Before any purchase can begin, an adult has to answer a simple multiplication question, so a child cannot start one alone.

Which devices and languages does drawAnything support?

drawAnything runs on iPhone and iPad with iOS 16 or later. The app is available in six languages: English, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish and Portuguese.

Where are drawings stored, and does drawAnything work offline?

Drawings are stored on the phone itself. If you are signed in to iCloud they may also sit in your own iCloud Drive, inside your own Apple account, which we have no access to. Drawing, animating, saving pictures and the sketchbook all work with no network connection at all.

How do I save my child’s drawing as a video?

Tap Come alive! to bring the drawing to life, then tap Save the moving one. drawAnything writes a short square video and puts it straight into your Photos, where it plays like any other video. Saving a still picture is free; saving the moving one is part of the one-time unlock.

What happens to my drawings if I never pay?

Nothing. The five free drawings are kept permanently — they can be reopened, replayed and drawn on again, and drawAnything never takes them away or locks them behind the purchase. The unlock only removes the limit on making new ones.

How do I restore the purchase on a new phone?

Open drawAnything, tap a crayon to start a new drawing until the unlock screen appears, then tap Restore purchase, signed in with the same Apple Account used originally. The purchase is permanent and never needs to be bought again.

Everything on this page describes drawAnything as it stood on . If any of it stops being true, this page changes.

Give them a crayon and see what walks off.

Ad-free & Privacy-first. Nothing is collected. Limit kids' screen time by setting up parental controls.
